Let the living things thrive and explode out of the lands that cannot contain them.

BFA in Printmaking, University of Washington, Seattle, WA, USA

I'm an artist and printmaker from Taiwan. I work with a variety of printmaking techniques, currently focusing on expressive woodcut prints.

I'm drawn to the marks and textures that printmaking processes create, some can be controlled and some cannot, quite like life. Being openminded and playing with these artistic outcomes is what I do in the studio.

Many pieces begin with loose sketches right on the wood blocks. Instead of paint brushes, the carving tools make their unique marks that hide their final looks. The blocks then printed with spontaneous colors that highlight the wood’s natural texture as well as the patterns created by the carving tools.

My work is energetic and optimistic, focused on freedom of marks, colors, and the stories held in gestural visual elements. Each piece uplifts your mood while inviting you to ponder on its meaning.
