I made this piece when I was exploring the ideas behind the Internal Family Systems psychotherapy theory. It comforted me that everyone is equipped with a Self that is capable of love, curiosity and empathy, no matter what other parts of our internal system are experiencing. And the fact that this sense of safety comes from within is very powerful.
